The Phuket experience

The island of Phuket is dreaded by many for it being the costa del farang. A place, where scandinavians come by the masses on their package holidays. Should it be dreaded for that or not? Who cares -it's Phuket!
The Island is really big and there is loads to see and many places to go. Actually the place reminds me somehow of a town or city, that has built a resort aroud itself for living -like farming tourists instead of fish- and seems to succeed in it quite well.
The town itself doesn't have that many foreigners, but they're hanging out in towns built for them from and around the clusters of resorts along the beaches o the island. I spent several days just cruising around and visiting sites interest and beaches with a borrowed scooter.

I like waterfalls:
You can see yachts sailing into the harbor in the distance from Muddy beach, Phuket town:
Here's a pic of the guys doing their show in the Old town festival, Phuket town:
Participated in my first fireshow one night on Patong beach. Didn't really do so well, but beginnings are beginnings. This is me:
This beach just north from the airport is still empty, but concrete skeletons rising up behind parts off this beach promises something else from the future:
On the secod last night in Phuket we went out to see the lunar eclipse. In the middle of the night though, but even if tiered and the thing itself progressing slowly it was well worth while in sence of seeig something yet unseen by my eyes
